Social Leader

Role Description
The Social Leader is a full-time, on-site role based in Bihar, India, responsible for planning, organizing, and leading community-focused activities and initiatives. In this role, the Social Leader coordinates local programs, conducts field visits, and engages directly with community members, local stakeholders, and partner organizations. Daily tasks include organizing workshops and awareness campaigns, facilitating group meetings, documenting activities and outcomes, and reporting progress to the foundation’s leadership. The Social Leader will collaborate with volunteers and team members, support project implementation, and help identify local needs and opportunities for new initiatives. This role requires consistent on-ground presence, relationship-building, and a commitment to social impact and community empowerment.

Qualifications

• Strong community engagement skills, including the ability to build trust, facilitate group discussions, and work with diverse stakeholders.

• Program coordination and organizational skills, such as planning events, managing schedules, and maintaining accurate records and reports.

• Effective communication abilities in written and spoken form, with proficiency in local languages of Bihar and working knowledge of English preferred.

• Basic understanding of social development, public welfare, or non-profit work, with experience in community-based projects considered an advantage.

• Ability to work independently in the field, take initiative, and make decisions aligned with organizational values and goals.

• Demonstrated empathy, cultural sensitivity, and commitment to social justice and inclusive practices.

• Minimum of a high school diploma; a degree in social work, sociology, development studies, or a related field is beneficial.

• Willingness to travel within Bihar as needed and maintain flexible working hours to support community activities.
